Shoddy work at an exhorbitant price On the plus side, Greco & Haines arrived promptly (late on a Saturday afternoon) and got our pump working again. For $2,600. On the negative side, they didn't give us an itemized bill until more than a week after we paid, they charged twice the hours actually worked (at $100/hour!), they didn't replace the well cap (which I understand is required by state law), and they tried to sell us an inadequate replacement tank that needed annual service. BEWARE OF GRECO & HAINES BEWARE OF POOR BUSINESS AND INCOMPLETE WORK!!! In April of 2011 I had Greco & Haines come out to test my water because of blue stains. They told me that it was acidic and hard. They installed a system to balance out the water costing about 3,000.00 I called them in Oct 2011 because my blue stains were coming back and asked that they service the system and chemicals. They gave me an appointment with a 5 hour window. I asked for a smaller window but they said that was standard. The day of the appointme... read more

AWFUL AWFUL COMPANY I have never seen such lack of professionalism or work ethic. I went to visit my mother who was having work done (which they failed at too) and the employee that came to fix the water pump had the radio in his work truck blaring so loudly ALL of the neighbors called to complain about the noise. Clearly he was just trying to be malicious, no one is that stupid to think that they aren't being a nuisance. LOOK OUT FOR 'HIDDEN' TRAVEL CHARGES STAY AWAY - YOU WILL 'DROWN' IN LABOR COSTS. They may never charge and overtime fee, but they do charge for the time that the techs are sitting in their truck driving from one appointment to the next. If you live close to the last service call, that might not be a problem. If you live quite a way from the last service call you will be charged for the time it takes the techs to drive to your house as labor. GREAT COMPANY Excellent- I use GRECO & HAINES IN OLD LYME, CT. , SHELTON, CT. AND HAVE IN THE PAST USED THEM IN HARWINTON,CT WHEN I OWNED A COMMERCIAL BUILDING WITH 7 BUSINESSES. I HAD 10 PIECES OF EQUIPMENT THERE. I HAD USED AN OUTFIT BY THE NAME OF BLACK FROM WATERTOWN, CT. WHO CHARGED ME MONTHLY BUT DID NOTHING. One of my worst experiences with a business ever Do not use this company. It seems like they only care about money to me. A woman told me that our yearly service would cost $155. You can imagine my shock and anger when the servicemen handed me a bill for over $560. For my family, that is a lot of money, and we would have arranged something else had we known it was going to cost that much. DON'T CALL! TAKE YOUR BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE DON'T CALL, TAKE YOUR BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE! I purchased my home 5 years ago which came with a new water filtration system (radon in the water), that needs service each year. For the past 4 years I have had Greco & Haines service the system and each year there has been an issue - but this year was the final straw.
