I toke my daughter to Great Miami Outfitters to get her first pair of hiking shoes this week. The staff was very friendly, knowable and in finding the correct shoe and fit for her. I got my hiking shoes a couple months ago from one of the Big Outfitters. It was not a good experience at all. And the shoes are not a good fit. I will be going back to Great Miami Outfitters next week to get myself better fitting hiking hiking shoes. The folks who run this place are my kind of people - passionate and knowledgeable about their products, always trying to find the right product to meet your needs rather than just trying to sell you the most expensive thing. The complete opposite of a typical big-box retailer
Hands down the best outfitters in the area! Far better service than ANY of the corporate chain outfitters around. I've been doing business with G.M.O. ever since the store first opened and they just keep getting better. The staff is top notch just like the gear they sell. Always willing to go the extra mile to make sure you're taken care of regardless of what your needs are. Your friendly local outdoor store is the place to go (rather than a big box store) since you really need a bit more personal touch and knowledge to get the right gear, especially if your safety in the great outdoors depends on it. Great Miami Outfitters does very well, and is among the highest quality stores out of those with similar size/selection in other cities I have visited.
