pros: people here are mostly nice, and quite communal. properties are in reasonably good condition after two years, considering the shoddy construction quality. cons: - HOA keeps making decisions that are, well, not necessarily bad per se, but just plain ole' perplexing (like changing management companies or water billing utilities. the previous companies weren't great, but the new ones are arguably worse to deal with). - management company is combative and dismissive of complaints and concerns and issues. Matt Wolski and Tommy Heitz are your onsite leaders who will decline to help renters in the slightest of ways. Its discriminatory. Car dependent location (without enough parking), HOA fees that keep going up, high crime area, and immediately under the AUS airport flight path, incredibly loud sonic booms even at 4am. Also the direct area is a desert, nothing within walking distance. Not even a corner store. One plus is that the building is new.
I just moved in and I'm so enraged at everything I had to deal with moving into a new build. Items that were on the inspection sheet prior to closing were never addressed and despite trying to coordinate for an electrician to address the issue for over three weeks, the electrician never showed up on the appointed day and I was never given a reason why.
