Get directionsYesterday I had to go to the ER because I didn't have a primary care Dr. WOW what a crazy, messed up place. First, I didn't get admitted for 35 min. , Then I sat in a room for 2 hrs, just for them to look at my infected thumb. Then the next day I received a Dr. bill online. Not sure it wasn't from the hospital ? I quickly viewed it and then it vanished??? I tried to go on the website several attempts to get it , which they said I had no records for me. Then, I called the hospital assistance #., they gave me another phone# be... read more
Was treated for a heart attach at the Grand Strand Medical Center a few years ago. I need a copy of the medical records of the heart attach. I was referred to an outside agency that required $49 to $149 for a copy of my medical records. What a sorry outfit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Was recently in the ER with my sister during a family vacation. For one, being 12hrs away from home and in a strange hospital was scary enough. It was the worst experience in a hospital she and I have ever had. They placed her in a room with no bathroom, no nurse call button, no phone, and no blankets for a few hours. She was supposed to be admitted, they had her in that room for 24hrs waiting. She was not offered food or water. The first dr we seen seemed appalled by the room she was placed in, but was never moved. I ask... read more
Thank you for the opportunity to tell you my experience with 3 employees at the Grand Strand. I spoke with Rachel (RN) I think??... on March 11, 2021, Thursday morning at approximately 6:30am and spoke with Meredith and Nancy ( recovery room nurses) same date at about noon day. They were all so professional and understanding. I live in Greensboro, NC and my uncle was admitted to Grand Strand over three hours away. I thank God for these three ladies! They listened to my concerns and assured me he was in good hands. I was re... read more
5 stars for occupational Therapist Becca Henke! She was so kind to my 83yr old dad who had suffered a major stroke and was in rehab in Oct. to the end of Nov. It was terrifying to see my dad in this condition, not able to walk, swallow or talk very well and put on a feeding tube when before the stroke he was very independent! Becca was very compassionate to my dad and myself during this difficult time and she continued to reach out to me when he was transferred to Brightwater. It meant so much to me that my dad was in the ca... read more
My father recently passed away at Grand Strand. He initially went in , we thought he had a small stroke. They did a CT scan said did not see anything. The next day I went to visit. My Dad was alone face drooping, vomit in one side of his mouth.. and it was very obvious that he had a major stroke. I tried to call the nurse and she came in after 10 minutes and didn't seem to care that he had a stroke. She had a nerve to tell me that she was just in 8 minutes ago and did not see what we were seeing. My Father's entire right s... read more
North Strand ER - My wife had chest pains and we ended up in this ER. We were treated nice, but the charge for a three hour visit was $6709. There was nothing wrong with my wife when we left. I checked with Healthcare Bluebook and the average price for these services was $2305. Stay away from these guys unless you have a lot of money to waste or great insurance. And one more thing, they demanded payment before we left. They did offer us a 20% discount if we paid that day.
This is regarding the Emergency Room; About 3 weeks after I had a hip replacement, I fell off the bench on my walker. I could not get up. The ambulance took me to the hospital. After several hours and several X-rays, they told me nothing was wrong and sent me home. They ordered an ambulance to take me home because I was unable to get into the wheelchair to be put into a "cab". The next morning, I called my Orthopaedic Surgeon and he said to go back to the hospital and that I needed to be admitted. Turns out I could no... read more
