Still Creepy, Now Crabby Too Yet another fading local Grand Avenue business. It's hard to believe I used to protest before the City Council when big business tried to move in to the neighborhood. Perhaps all the big business and competition is making the folks at Grand Spectacle ornery, but they certainly have lost their friendly, folksy feel in their Grand Avenue house. Let me look without bothering me I looked at frames in this store, but did not buy anything. The staff person did not bother me and let me look around. I did not buy simply because the prices were more than I was interested in. I liked the styles though.
great service with a personal touch I've gone to this shop for several years. I am quite nearsighted with double vision. They have consistently provided great customer service, and I've been pleased with the optometrist too. They will adjust eyeglasses frames or provide new nose pads anytime with a smile. It's worth it to pay a little more to keep it local and to get great service. I've had terrible experiences with eyeglass chain stores not providing the prescription I needed and then blaming it on me or my doctor. That's n... read more
They really helped me out of a bind! I stumbled upon Grand Spectacle when I had stepped on my Lindberg glasses and broke them. I had a meeting that afternoon and Matt was able to temporarily patch them back together so I could see to do my presentation and while he made my new pair. They had a great selection of frames and were very helpful in finding a style that fits me well. Matt was even able to get my new pair done in just a few days so I didn't have to rely on my broken ones! I'm glad to have found a shop with such gre... read more
Just plain creepy These guys have decent prices and all, but the ~70 yr old man who examined me kept touching me and at one point while he was looking into my eye his check was touching mine. Eeeew! They also refused to give my prescription information to 1-800-contacts, this is illegal!
