My daughter is an addict for many years. It was extremely scary for her to try detox. She was only detoxing for approximately 60 hours when they told her if she didn't go to program they would kick her out. I know for sure from the amount of times she tried to quit that it's at least 72 hours. She couldn't even barely hold her head up due to withdrawal sickness. I picked her up and she literally hasn't barely been able to move since noon yesterday when I picked her up. We need to do better to get addicts the help they need. ... read more
Grand River Hospital Withdrawal Management Center is a lifesaver for whoever want to get out of their addiction, be it alcohol or other substance addiction. The staff are super helpful, considerate and understanding. The facility was opened in 2000 so about 25 years and not so old or dated. They initially put the client in observation for about 24 hours and then let into the main area. There are mens wing and womens wing with bedrooms and washrooms.
