I went in for a cat bite at 10 pm and was seen at 7 am. It is not the hospital’s fault for a nine hour wait (it is the brokenness of our entire Canadian health care system!) They gave me a bed at 4. All of the staff I dealt with were friendly, positive, and I was treated very well. I also sincerely appreciated the peaceful atmosphere of the waiting area - the walls are painted in calming blues and greens, the tv was playing cartoons (w/o sound/a clock/news) and most especially for me, it was quiet! nurses are too busy talking and laughing with eachother while the whole waiting room is packed this is the worst experience of all time
Excellent service from Grand River hospital. I had a rather urgent illness to get treated and it was treated with utmost care and every medical examination was done to the fullest extent - even if it took a while. I definitely think the wait times that people are experiencing are based on the severity of the injury.
