After having several hospital births that went against everything I wanted and sick of fighting with docs/nurses about what I wanted and feeling like a prisoner at hospitals, I looked into going with a midwife for baby #5. As a birth doula, I was so impressed with the whole experience for my client with Sarah and her assistant. You are immediately put at ease when you walk into the center, it is peaceful, quiet and cozy. There are snacks and tea and coffee, and plenty of space for clients to have their privacy while laboring or coming for prenatal appointments. 10/10 recommend Grand Rapids midwifery! Sarah was my postpartum doula and she helped me more than words can describe. She gave so much support and guidance with breastfeeding (more than the IBCLCs I saw). She figured out my little one had oral ties and helped give me the knowledge and confidence to EBF.
