Spent the afternoon on the Texas City Dike with my wife and our dogs. While driving home we came upon Grand Prize BBQ and pulled in hungary. Sign outside stated Senior Sunday...and since we are in our sixties I assumed they might have some specials. Not to be..told the specials end at 3 pm. So asked what else was good...they mentioned a few things, including the Chicken Fried Steak...which included a baked potato and salad. I live in DFW but grew up in Tx City. Every time I visit the area, this is the one place that I have to stop and eat.

They have the best bbq in texas. Meat just be falling off the bone and I love the homemade bread they have #Yummy!!!!!!
Better than Pappas ,Rudy's and other places I've been and good price..
I don't like to ever write a bad review about any place but unfortunately this had to be the worst BBQ I have ever had. I had the ribs and brisket and they were dry. The poor BBQ sauce was tasteless. But the peach cobbler and potato salad were good. We won't be coming back :(
