Really great BBQ. Hard to please all 4 of us and we all walked away happy. Sides were on point too! Great the next day!
I've eaten a lot of great BBQ in many states. Grand Old BBQ y Asado is the best in San Diego. Maybe even west of Kansas City. Phil's BBQ is damm good, but this one is as authentic as it comes, outside of Texas. It reminded me of The Salt Lick BBQ outside of Austin. That one is the crowned king. Not a ton of dry rub, the flavor comes from mesquite smoke. Some advice for Grand Old BBQ: 1) Grab some beer from Thorn Street Brewery. 2) Get in line early. 3) Order extra to take home.

It's a great venue! You can take you own beer and wine in, and you will want to for the wait in line. Believe me it is worth the wait!!! This is the first time we went on a Sunday and the food was AWESOME!!! They sold out in by 1:47p.m. and they open at noon! Tritip, chorizo, lamb, short ribs, and the salmon looked fantastic, but they sold out before we got to the head of the line. During the week the smoked turkey sandwich is out of this world!
