About this business

Grand Isle Restaurant puts a fine dining spin on fresh-from-the-water Louisiana seafood. Diners will find all of the fresh seafood favorites that would be available at a Grand Isle fishing camp with refined touches to enhance the experience. Oysters are served or fixed one of three ways—Grand, Rockefeller, or Bienville—each way enhancing the oyster with a rich topping. We’ve eaten at a LOT of places around New Orleans, and Grand Isle has become one of our favorites. Food, service, and atmosphere are great. Was disappointed that they didn’t have the sheep head fillets on our recent visit, but the crab cakes with fried eggs and asparagus entre was delicious.

Best Shrimp PoBoy sandwich ever! Be sure to squeeze on extra lemon - makes it even better! :)

Made a reservation for 2:30. Arrived at 2:15 and was told there’d be at least a 30 minute wait. Poor service

It was our first trip to New Orleans for Jazz Fest and went to Grand Isle for their happy hour, we were pleasantly surprised. We met the BEST server, Mark Damico, who didn't just help us with the menu but with the city's sites and culture. We returned 3 more times after that initial visit to see Mark, for their happy hour drinks/great menu, relaxing courtyard atmosphere and visit with their excellent oyster shuckers at the oyster bar (Eddie and Virgil). Excellent restaurant and staff, we highly recommend it!

I sat at the oyster bar after walking along the river all day and wanted to avoid traffic hour but I was in for the nicest experience. All the servers were friendly, the oysters were delicious and they had a decent beer selection. Grand Isle is the perfect place to relax after a long eventful day. It was also a pleasure to chat with the tourists who sat around me and hear about their New Orleans experiences. I will definitely go back and venture around the menu.

Great service by Eddy. We had to go twice because it was very good food and service. Our waiter was efficient, friendly, and fun. Definitely would recommend this restaurant and ask for Eddy.
