Caring, responsive vet – Kind, involved front desk staff - terrific roster of vets. Fast callbacks or immediate answers to questions. Responsive, very helpful. Flexible where scheduling is concerned. Knowledgeable (Very!) about pugs (I have one) and their health issues. Excellent vet.
Expect to Wait...and Wait...Wait...and to be Treated Rudely – The doctors have been great, but the desk staff are either surly or incompetent or both. Only after a month of repeatedly calling them was I able to get my cat's test results. A test that I paid $100 for! Most of the time I call, I am put on hold in excess of 5 minutes. As I write this, I am on hold with them: we are at 9 minutes and counting. Bottom line: good doctors, absolutely terrible service. Find another place.
Careful, compassionate care, reasonable prices. – Dr. Kuhlman and Dr. Feibush and their excellent technicians recently saved my 13-year-old poodle when she had a crisis with kidney failure, and they have been extremely kind and compassionate to all my animals for more than 25 years. I'm not crazy about some of the partner vets who have come and gone, but Dr. Kuhlman has been a jewel in the Gramercy crown for all these years. His prices are reasonable, and he allows time to pay back large bills (like 3 weeks, hospital care, s... read more
Excellent Cat Care – My cats have gone to GPAH since 2001 when the practice was recommended by a pet rescue organization. I had the horrible luck of having a 4-year-old cat that developed lymphoma this year. The care, information and compassion from Dr. Kuhlman was excellent. I truly felt like I had the my precious cat in the care of an expert and family friend at the same time. When the tests came back, and the prognosis dire, we had to put her down. Dr. Kuhlman stayed after hours and let my husband and I spend time with ou... read more
By FAR the best VET in the CITY – I took my 13 yr old peek-a-poo, who was unable to walk and in extreme pain, to Dr. Nulton back when she was at Gramercy Animal, after taking her to various other vets in the city who told me it was severe arthritis. Dr. Nulton immediately recognized she had been misdiagnosed and had been suffering from Lymes Disease. Under Dr. Nulton and Dr. Kulhman's care, she returned to normal. Unfortunately, she also had an englarged heart, and later on a brain tumor, which caused her death at 16, but th... read more
Best Vet Ever – Dr. Dan is the best vet I have ever met! He is sooo nice and truly cares about my dog. It is a shame someone wrote otherwise. He is good looking and knows how to care for my dog@@ Woof! That person who wrote otherwise is not that smart, obviously!!!!!! Go to Dr.Dan he is cute and smart at the same time!!!
best vet in downtown NYC – This is by far the best veterinary hospital downtown in NYC! I have been taking my dog there for 3 years now, and I know that she has received exceptional care. My dog has a lot of strange allergies and medical complications, and they have been successful treating all of them. It's a popular place, so try to book appointments in advance especially if you want to be seen on a Saturday.
Beware, Beware!!! – Our cat was very ill and the Dr we saw did not prepare us or give us many options in her care. The tests gave weird results but no explanation. No request for a return visit. We became increasing concern and the same Dr was not in. Returned 3 times to speak with the same Dr that has seen her. Never there. This went on for days. Called after hours very concerned twice, did get calls back again but from a different Dr who had never seen her. Told us to bring her in the next day even though we were very alar... read more
