Rude management Our service while visiting was ok from the young man who helped us at our table. We had a problem with a credit card charge and upon calling the store to speak to someone about it the woman on the phone was incredibly rude and unhelpful. I will NOT be back, nor would I recommend you go.
Awful Got this on Groupon for a friend and I to go and do for her birthday...it was AWFUL!!! Do not spend the money on this place!!
NEVER again. I came here to see if this place was as bad as the reviews say. They're all true. I walked in with my friend and the owner gave us dirty looks and acted as if we were and inconvenience just as another user said, not to mention she rolled her eyes when we asked for milkshakes. i ordered a strawberry milkshake, and it was in no way a milkshake; more like cold milk with clumps of syrup in it. worst job Iuse to work there years ago, I remember getting yelled at there. Paychecks not being on payday because they forgot to do it .It was the worst job i ever had i would not recommend it
Gourmet Junction is AWESOME i got ice-cream there and they had so many different flavors to get, i was just like wow! i would say that my personal experience was just well fantastic. They have great prices and they just do.yes i would recommend them to people who like sweets such as myself... Tip: if you are getting ice-cream ask for the flavor called black forest
An Oasis in the sea of chain stores From the reviews I read, you either love Gourmet Junction or hate it. I can't help thinking that now that the politics of Plainfield (the owner's husband is no longer mayor) is out of the way, there may be fewer bad reviews. Also, as with the Whole Foods and Wild Oats debacle (where the owner of Whole Foods maligned Wild Oats so he could take the stores over) there does seem to be some nasty competition in town. I won't be going back... In spite of reading some of the bad reviews of this place on line, I took a couple of my friends here around Easter 2009. Well, the woman working behind the counter (the owner? an older woman with obviously dyed black hair) and the woman at the door (an older woman with a rather unpleasant disposition) acted as if my friends and I were an inconvenience! review for GOurmet JUnction Have been in a few times and other than the owner (who is the Mayor's wife ) is rude and did I say rude. She was behind the counter talking over the waiting customers to what seemed like a friend. The line was just 2 peeps deep and she ( the owner) was more concerned with gossip. NOt a spot we will re-visit. The ice-cream wasn't all that wonderful and the ambiance was pretty dated and lifeless. This one's a thumbs way way down.
Word of Mouth I've been hearing alot about this place as of late so I checked the internet and came across these reviews. Geez, the slander. I will stay the course and see for myself if everything is as good as I am hearing in the neighborhood. It seems that this lady shouldn't have to bear these nasty reviews just because of who her husband is. Grow up people!
