Staff is very nice and helpful. There is so much space and so many machines that its rare that you have to wait for someone to finish. Everything is state or the art, I really enjoy working out there.
The hydro massage in the men’s change room rarely works. When it does it is awesome. However, in the last 4 months I would say it has worked less than 25% of the time. Technicians have been sent in many times. It works for a couple of days and then fails again. Clearly a new part or more likely a new machine is required. On a seperate note, the staff at Portage are excellent. This poor review is strictly related to the men’s hydro massage poor reliability.
I enjoy all the group fitness classes at the Peterborough locations, the instructors and staff are exceptional, but with the introduction of the Pump Heavy classes, there aren’t enough weights available. Making the classes smaller is not an acceptable solution either, as there is plenty of room for more attendees and the waiting lists are always lengthy. Trying to get into the popular classes can be next to impossible. After 2 minutes of being open for registration, Body Pump Heavy is full. Some other classes are the same. Management is aware that people are not getting into these classes yet do not accommodate for their popularity. Basically if you can't get into the class you want...too bad.
