HELP! Bait & Switch car rental company (NU Car rentals service in cooperation with horspower car rental) . Read contract carefully. after paying in full prior to arrival, we were read disclaimers for additional fees, insurance and toll, fines if you do not use the epass provided (tolls$15 a day, insurance $30 a day) . DO NOT USE THIS CAR RENTAL COMPANY! They scam you into upgrading your car, then tack on additional fees. When I spoke to customer service about these fees, the agent was extremely rude and hung up on me. DON'T USE!!
Best to avoid. They simply don't care about repeat business. Apparently their business model is to capture revenue from first (and last) time customers. A reservation means nothing. I've seen where they don't have the type vehicle you reserved and even nothing at all. That's right, you make a reservation only to show up and have them tell you they have no cars to rent.
This was the worst car rental experience I’ve ever had. I pre booked my car two months in advanced. Once I got to the reservation desk, the attendant told me my reservation was cancelled three days prior. When I advised him that I never received a cancellation email nor was I notified by Priceline of any cancellation, the attendant just shrugged and said well we have no cars available because we are overbooked. Do not rent from this company! They are complete liars and crooks. A car was stolen from me through no fault of my own and on the first day of my week-long rental... and NuCar did not refund my reservation and they charged me $2000 damage once the vehicle was recovered! THEY SUCK! STAY AWAY!
