My experience is only fair (i.e. not great). I cannot believe that after YEARS of not having any Manager, they removed a recent addition after ONE MONTH! Now we are back to square one and all issues that arise will go unanswered and unreported. The current front desk person (Brian) is a GREAT addition, but staff cannot make changes on their own.

My husband and I had been members for about 19 years. While Gold's Gym offers low membership fee to new members, it raised our fee annually for decades, resulting we each were paying nearly twice as much as new people. Their biweekly charge is tricky. Calculate carefully, old members, you may find out you are paying much more than you thought. When some problem rose, it was impossible to communicate with the manager. Re-joined Golds after Crunch in Chevy Chase closed. Using the techniques I learned from a personal trainer I engaged for 8 years and the equipment at Gold's, I'm noting results in just about 5 weeks. I've gained some mass and definition. Gold's provides a great range of equipment. My only criticisms are there is only one leg extension machine and management doesn't discourage members from taking residence on the equipment doing little more than play with their phones for long periods of time. Recently joined and am very pleased. Terrell the manager made the sign up for membership very easy. Great equipment! The staff is welcoming and helpful’. Even the other members are great. They are there to train hard and are focused. Huge difference from my last gym which a social lounge instead of people working hard at training. Highly recommended Golds Van Ness!
