I love the old-time jazz feel of this place, and the owner is so kind and warm! I'm not a coffee drinker but I had a tuna sandwich and it was wonderful. I'll go back.
Most of my experiences in coffee shops are an exercise in maintaining self-esteem as baristas disdainfully show absolutely no interest in making me feel welcomed. That's why Golden Thyme is my new favorite cafe in St Paul. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was old friends with everyone I met. Golden Thyme is by far the best community cafe in the Twin Cities, Whether you need a cup of strong, hot coffee to get you through a couple hours of work, a sweet, iced drink to have over conversation with a neighbor, or some of the most fresh breakfasts and southern soul food lunches, Golden Thyme has it. I’ve been going to this coffee shop for over 15 years. The ambiance is always welcoming, warm and filled with good music. The staff are exceptional and the food is as good as anything you’d find in a larger restaurant but artfully made in a small kitchen off the side of the coffee area on two burners!
