Nice place, well kept. NOT tent friendly. More for RVers. We had a clothesline for our wet towels and swimsuits, and found out it is "against the rules," because they don't "want homeless people." Bathrooms were clean, well-maintained, but not terribly up-to-date. At the price of $45/night for tents, we do not recommend for tent camping.
No it's not a KOA. Would rather stay here any day. We stayed 2 nights the view is excellent, the hosts were extremely kind and friendly. Our camper was 34 foot and they fit us in a spot and gave us a spot across to park our vehicle. We would stay here again and again it's a great home base to go out and see the rest of Colorado like Pikes Peak, Cave of the winds, Manitou etc. They also have a fun little bu... read more
Our stay was short but so enjoyable, even with rain. the sites were well maintained considering how much rain we have been having. My kids loved to practice fishing in the lake. The staff were so friendly.
It's actually a 3.5. The people are very nice. The May museum is a "must see." The downside is that there are a lot of permanent residents with a lot of junk piled outside and big bad dogs. The sites are very crowded if you have a big rig. And we had to trim a tree branch before getting in. The sites are washed out so you have to use all your blocks to get close to level.
I have lived here for the last three year's, and love it !
I have been staying in this park 4 times it a neat place the museum is the best.
