Terrible service, made us order everything we wanted in the first 35 minutes of being there (at 645, not at closing) right after the main arrived, for the “convenience” of the kitchen. It’s a tapas place, for goodness sake! Manager was very rude and supported this notion that you should know if you want dessert after two bites of food. Worst dining experience since I found a roach in my food.

tapas It's been a while since I ate here but it's been always good each time I come here. Be prepared to wait a long time if you didn't make reservations. There have been many times that I just left because it was over an hour wait! If you make it in, their lunch menu is very affordable... dinner service, pretty much everyone on their menu is really good... you can't go wrong.
mostly fusion You need to have reservations for Friday and Saturday evening. If you like nouvelle fusion cuisine with a Japanese touch, you'll enjoy the atmosphere and menu/liquor offerings. Do not expect to order a traditional Japanese dinner that includes soup and rice. Everything on the menu is a la carte and meant to be shared. Reminded me of an upscale Japanese izakaya. Items are pricey ...
Too Expensive! You always need reservations for this restaurant... it's always full of parties and people... But once you get in, the food they serve is delicious!! But the food is too expensive and you can't really satisfy your stomach unless you have a lot of money to spend. But definitely it's a great restaurant to have excellent dishes with your friends to have an awesome dinner!
Beware of the oysters.... This was our first experience eating at this restaurant. It came highly recommended by a number of friends and co-workers. My husband ordered a half dozen of the oysters. Luckily, I have an aversion to oysters, so I didn't eat any. I made a comment that they had a foul odor, but my husband and son ate them anyway. They were both violently ill last night so my guess is the oysters were truly bad, and as a result, my husband and son wound up with mild food poisoning. This shows me the restaurant doesn... read more
Extremely Dissatisfied/Those with allergies should beware I was deeply disappointed with their total disregard and poor attitude toward people with food allergies. Iâve eaten at Gochiâs several times for lunch and had very pleasant experiences. But after having dinner with my family and parents, I would never return. The service was extremely slow (waited for menus, waited for tea â never got a refill throughout dinner). Quite a while after ordering, my momâs salad arrived. 10 minutes later, 2 steak dinners arrived, ... read more
Extremely Rude and Sneaky The waitress who claim she is the head of the restaurant is extremely rude and rip you off especially at night. She will not tell you hidden tip that they decide on their own and force you to pay without telling you. It seems almost a crime. Be careful not to ripped off by her.
Everything!!! The pizzas, claypot rices with dashi broth on the side, the delicious salads, donburi (lunch only), the gratins, the fish carpaccios. Seriously my favorite Japanese restaurant in the Bay Area!! I have to be transparent and say that I worked here for 12 years. That being said, I miss the food so much and hope you will give them a try!!
