Dr Pickens is fine. The front office staff however seems bothered there are patients. Their social interaction with one another and social media seems much higher on their priority list than anyone in the waiting area. The nurse lacked any personality and was robotic in her interaction. I'll be looking for other options for the future.
I was hospitalized at Lakepoint for kidney stones. Dr Pickens was the on call physician. He was wonderful and GREAT bedside manners. Had to have a stent put in and he explained everything prior to the surgery and even the at home issues to be concerned about. His nurse Gloria (I think is her name) is VERY nice and helpful. Always returns my calls the same day. I have my first nurse office visit tomorrow so I will leave feedback after that appt. So far...everything has been a WONDERFUL.

Very short wait time with a very friendly staff. Dr. Pickens truly cared about my health and gave me expert advice. I knew I was in good hands before going in to surgery. I would definitely recommend him to all of my friends.
He and his partner dr newman, both excellent. My surgery was explained prior (as best you can, emergency surgery ). Always smiling, always speaks with respect and friendliness. Tries very hard to keep a patient from having extra, unneeded visits. (We've all had those doc's trying to make a boat payment) not here. Good, honest doctors/surgens. Give him a try. I'm happy to have had him recommended to me.
