BAD SERVICE!!!! – I recently visited the San Francisco store and tried on many dresses. I found a dress and really liked it. As I was standing in the mirror seriously considering the dress the employee came to inform me that I needed to hurry up because another bride behind me needed my dressing room. As far as I was concerned, having a "no appointment necessary" boutique meant no limit on how long an "appointment" could take. Great dresses, terrible service – Beautiful, designer dresses, very unfriendly employees that appeared annoyed to have to answer questions and seemingly did not like that I was touching the dresses in order to inspect them. The Dress of my Dreams! – I found the dress of my dreams at this store! A dress by Anne Barge that I had tried on else where and could not afford at the price of $10,500. I found my same dress at the Glamour Closet for $2,500! 75% off a dress they had got in their shipment 2 days before I visited the store in perfect condition! This should be your first stop... – After driving all the way to San Francisco to find a wedding dress, my first stop was Saks. The sales women treated me very badly. I was surprised at the condescending attitude I received when buying a $12,000 dress. I chose not to spend my money there. Then I went to Neiman Marcus. And although Saks took the cake in rudeness, Neiman Marcus was a close second. They acted like they were doing me a favor by selling me a dress. Best Bridal shop I went to! – I found my wedding dress as this shop after visiting several other places. The shop itself is very nice and clean and the staff there is absolutely wonderful! The shop is so cute and I love the location as well! The thing I loved about the place is that you can get a designer gown at a very resonable price. My dress is very tailored looking and is a mermaid style I got it for around $900 and normally it costs $1600. Another bad experience with Frances Clare Sewing - Julie Ireland in SF – I AGREE wholeheartedly that using Julie of Francis Clare sewing for altering my wedding dress was a complete disaster! I would NEVER reccommend her to anyone - even my enemies! She was very unprofessional and did not deliver on services and timeframe of delivery that were agreed upon. I can go more into details with anyone who wants them, but I am persuing legal action - that's HOW BAD she was!
nice place – I have NEVER been persued legally for my work, or not meeting a delivery date. This review is written by the same party as "L.C." on another review site. She had a size 12 gown which she did NOT purchase from Glamour Closet, and she was a size 2. When we took in the sides of the gown, the waist came up (naturally!) which meant that the drop waist was not below her hip bones like it was when it was 10 sizes too big for her. Love Glamour Closet, hate their seamstress – I found a wonderful dress at Glamour Closet. I loved that you didn't have to make an appointment and that you weren't limited in the number of dresses you could try. The sales people were helpful and unpretentious, and didn't try to sell you something that didn't look right. I have recommended this store to everyone I know. HOWEVER, the seamstress recommended by Glamour Closet (and the one who comes to the store), Julie of Frances Clare Sewing, was disastrous. She nearly ruined my... read more
