Dr. Giuffrida operated on my right (dominant) wrist to insert a plate to properly align my very damaged distal radius. I am a musician so I was devastated by my injury and needed the best outcome possible. Dr. Giuffrida is by far one of the best hand surgeons. Dr. Giuffrida accurately diagnosed my condition and offered a solution which was effective. As an owner and practicing electrician with carpal tunnel syndrome and a trigger finger, pain was a regular occurrence which impedes on my productivity until Dr. Giuffrida diagnosed my condition and provided a quick injection which alleviated all my pain. Highly recommend!
The doctor was very nice, HOWEVER, the Emerson office is about as unprofessional and discombobulated as can be! I had the first appt. at 8:30 for a trigger finger procedure, they call me the day before to ask me to come in at 10:00 instead. I get there at 10, they have me waiting for 1/2 hour and when I went to the desk to ask what's going on she has no idea and will ask a nurse. Total zero! This is the second review I am giving Dr. Guiffrida because my initial review was removed. She is not professional at all and reminded me she was not a robot! She performed a nerve repair surgery (11/2021) for my 13 year old son and promised to communicate during the surgery and did not. Due to her lack of professionalism the surgery was $56000 and for the follow up, reminded me she was no robot and doctors aren't perfect. Due to a fall I injured my hand and wrist a friday afternoon. Later that evening I went to a walk in emergency facility in my area. They x-rayed my wrist reviewed the x-rays and said there was no breaks or dislocation.. My wrist continued to swell and the pain increased over the weekend. That following Monday I was able to see Dr. Giuffrida ASAP. She reviewed the x-rays that were taken on Friday and saw a bone chip in my wrist and another in a finger. Dr. Giuffrida performed nerve damage surgery to my son’s left thumb. She started off as a professional. The day of surgery she spoke to my son, his father and myself. She stated that if the surgery does not go naturally (meaning if he needed a nerve connector) that she will call us. The surgery lasted about 1 1/2 hrs. We never got a call while we waited. Dr. Giuffrida was extremely helpful with my ailments in my dominant hand. The doctor explained options to improve my hand. We talked about an injection treatment as well as surgery. I chose with her recommendation to go with injection treatment which ended up being a breeze. I’m very happy with my results and everything went as described by Dr. Giuffrida. After years of not being able to fully open my hand I’m still getting used to it. I would recommend her Highly to anyone I know. My overall experience was excellent!
