Loved, loved, loved my experience with Girasol Counseling. I was nervous to start therapy at first, but my therapist immediately made me feel comfortable, took the time to answer all of my questions, and truly listened to understand me. She was incredibly attentive to my needs, deeply empathetic, and genuinely understanding of my heritage and background. I felt seen, heard, and supported.
If you want someone who actually lives their healing practice and decolonial speech, I wouldn't book with Claudia in the slightest. She's great at putting on a face, but when it comes to living it, she picks and chooses who makes her look good. As a therapist, she's incredibly self-centered and unempathetic.
One of the first questions they ask on intake zoom call is ‘are you a white supremicist’. I don’t m on why this is their question only 3 minutes into intake and dealing. The ‘Karen’ in the phone actually took the time to argue about why they are justified in asking a bigoted question like that on intake. It's highly unusual and inappropriate for clinic staff to ask a patient if they are a white supremicist. Claudia and Cynthia are both amazing folks who care about and exemplify providing healing in community. They provide accessibility by being bilingual as well and even offer community workshops for those who are looking for healing outside of the traditional therapist model. I have personally benefited from the somatic therapy and breath practices that they offer, this has been my first experience with somatic practices which has greatly helped me be present with my body.
