I once told Maggie sobbing that my wife made me afraid for my life. I'd expect a therapist to know what abuse looks and sounds like and help me realize it before it got worse (my current one did,) but she ignored that cry for help and never followed up with me about the incident. I didn't get out until others helped me see it and my wife had escalated to regular physical abuse and started a fire in our house. I don't know what a therapist is for if not to guide you in situations like this, plus she's super expensive...
