Established in 1995 as the Southeastern Cancer Center, the name was changed in 2002 to honor Alice and Monroe Carr Gibson, two Robeson County citizens dedicated to the cancer patients of this region. Prior to its inception, cancer services in Robeson County were provided by late Dr. David Richardson and the caring staff of Lumberton Medical Clinic in conjunction with Duke Medicine.
