NICHOLAS MODLIN, for color, is by far the BEST in the industry... I've been going to him for over 20 years. My job in TV requires an exceptional color job and you can't get better than Nicholas. As for the cut... stylist, SHAN, is unsurpassed in quality, what's "in" and what looks best on me.... I will NOT trust my hair to anyone else but the dynamic duo of Shan and Nicholas.
It is that time of year again, and moving to NY from LA, I needed to find a salon immediately. With a color correction that was mandatory before the holidays, Anne Marie not only was sweet but did an amazing job on my color. She took my hair from this horrible, dark bland color; to a nice chocolate brown with highlights. I would recommend anyone to go here. Do NOT believe the hype about this salon. The colorist (Ann Marie) is a very dedicated and kind person -- and she took me in after my head was mis-colored by another salon and seemed to be very nurturing -- but she turned my head multiple streaks of different shades, which is the exact opposite of what I asked for, and then tried to fix it by turning it orange (which didn't help the streaks) then when I expressed concern because the color was not what I wanted and there were still streaks and no natural red tones I had asked... read more

Wow! The staff at the salon are wonderful people. They all go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and happy. I traveled to NYC for a wedding and was in need of hair and makeup services. I made an appt a couple months in advance and dealt with Linda, who was always prompt to send me reminder emails and answered any questions that I had My stylist for hair and makeup was John. Annmarie is the BEST! – Annmarie saved the day! When another salon had ruined my hair by over bleaching and not adding a base color, I came to Annmarie in tears. However, within 15 minutes, no exaggeration, she fixed what I thought was unfixable. When I first came in she couldn't believe how bad the color job was from the other salon. Anne Marie is the Best Colorist! – After going to 3 different colorists who did not listen I finally found Ann Marie. She listens and cares. She is a dedicated colorist. I get a lot of compliments on my hair color. Another great thing is she always tries to accommodate you into the schedule.
Never found a better place for hair color! – I agree with all of the positive reviews about Gerard Bollei Salon. The staff there really knows hair color from A to Z. I guess that's why they've been in business for ages - happy clients who spread the word about them to their friends. Check it out and you'll agree they really know about color!
Bad hair color – According to reviews I was supposed to get good hair color but she was terrible my hair is damaged now and wondering how long will take to grow back!
