Charged me two different $30 set up fees. Definitely feels like a setup! Would not recommend. You will have a much better experience if you just go buy a couple thousand dollars’ worth of solar panels and a diesel generator.

crazy expensive for no reason
Power got disconnected due to a website glitch. Call them up the morning of and they say that they'll have my power back by 5 pm. Get home from work at 6:45 and guess whose power isn't back? Frantically, I call them before they close to ask if they can switch it back on and they say they can only do it tomorrow. Then they tell me they won't know the exact time they'll be able to get a technician out (so how do they know they'll fix it by tomorrow?). Surprising amount of incompetence from a utilities company. I have lost power at my house 5 times this month. In the three years that I have had Georgia Power, there have been almost two dozen outages. I have lived in other states prone to snow, hard freezes and hurricanes, but have never lost power as frequently as I do in Athens, GA. Most of the outages occurr when the weather is clear. It is also impossible to call Georgia Power and talk with a real person to get an explanation or understand how they plan to mitigate the outages moving forward.
