Used to be my regular spot before I moved. I make sure I make a stop every time I'm in town. No staff in Iowa City will treat you better than George's.
Best bar burger in town! Also oldest bar in town. This place is classic!
This place seems to be a classic Iowa City staple. Great music is played, good draft beers rotated in, and the burgers are ~$2 and taste pretty amazing. My husband and I actually went out to a fancy restaurant for wine and an appetizer, but came to George's for beer and the burgers!
Great cheeseburger and the people made it memorable. Will be back (short hop off I80)
