I love this VA hospital and their staff. Sure, the facility is showing it's age and scheduling can be frustrating. Don't blame the hospital or it's staff. The current administration froze hiring and most areas are under staffed. The only thing wrong with the VA is funding. Be an advocate. Get involved. Write our congressional delegation.

I've been receiving care at the VA and also at the University of Utah medical center for the last 20 years. Both facilities provide excellent service, and with Dr training programs at the U that have rotations at the VA veterans get exposure to the world class research going on. I have never felt so abandoned and deemed worthless by my own country. Thank you for your service is a lie here, based on my own experience. I am a 100% s/c paralyzed veteran and former Advocate, but this VAMC and the VSN refuses to follow VHA Directives. And they lie. And they will make false entries into your health record.

I called ahead of time to make sure I could bring my children to my appointment. I was told yes, so I drove TWO HOURS round trip with my kids. When I got there I was told “you can’t have you kids at your appointment, you will have to reschedule.” Absolutely ridiculous how DIFFICULT it is made to access assistance.

Incredible! I was on hold for over 3 hours, then when someone finally got on the line with me they acted as if they couldn’t hear me- there is absolutely nothing wrong with my phone & I’ve never had a problem prior. She hung up on me. This is a terrible scheduling system. As the spouse to a veteran who says awful things like “the negligence of the VA is one of the many reasons why veterans commit suicide,” I’m starting to understand where he’s coming from. As a health care provider myself, this is absolutely ridiculous and s... read more
