Been going to this hotel for 10+ years and never had a problem.
I spent 6 nights at the General Palmer Hotel for the Durango Independent Film Festival. It couldn’t have been more perfect! The attached photos will give you a sense, but they can’t capture the charm and history that the place has in person. The elevator is a classic old style one that requires a bit of getting used to, with a heavy gate to open and close when using. First time in a while we went on a vacation and the hotel itself was memorable. It feels like you are experiencing a part of history. Top notch staff (thank you CJ!), excellent breakfast, fantastic location, incredibly comfortable bed. Can’t recommend enough!
My husband and I stayed here overnight, and it was lovely. We stayed in room 311, which is the standard, interior king room. It was great. The bed and the room were clean and comfortable. They give you plenty of warning that the interior rooms do not have windows. That didn't bother us at all. Our room had a beautiful stained glass sky light that was cool. The shower and bathroom were clean. It's in walking distance of many restaurants and shops. I definitely recommend this hotel.
