We didn’t stay here but did tour the hotel and it’s dripping in woodwork and marble. Location rocks!! Classy place, would definitely stay here!!
Very Charming, Very Quaint, Very Elegant!
Hotel has a very old time vintage feel which I love! Yet modern & up to date, except for the carpet in the room. Very much enjoyed our stay!!
Beautiful motel! I was very disappointed with my experience. I accidentally lost a diamond earring down the shower drain during my stay. I immediately notified the front desk and asked if someone could help check the drain or have maintenance take a look. Unfortunately, no effort was made to assist me, and I felt my concern was simply dismissed. I understand accidents happen, but I expected at least an attempt to help or some compassion. The lack of customer service left me feeling frustrated and uncared for.
We love the General Palmer for it's location. We enjoyed eating at Perbacco Cucina Italiana restaurant which was so close and we also were able to walk to the Durango Train Station as well as be a few blocks from walking the Animas River Trail. The complimentary breakfast and free parking was also a nice perk. The bed was comfortable but if you like space, make sure to book a king bed.
