I think Dr. Akerkar is an amazing doctor. I even went to see her on my birthday just so I was able to see her. She takes her time and really listens to you and your concerns. When I left I felt so much better for having been seen by her. My whole family even sees her when they need to. I would highly recommend her to all of my friends which I have. She is a great doctor which is hard to find these days.

Dr Akerkar's assessment of my recent GI issues was spot on! With her guidance I am a much healthier version of myself. I will be forever grateful for her diagnosis and recommendations. Gut health plays a role in so many other health issues. Dr Akerkar's advice is solid! Do what she says and you won't regret it!!

I had a procedure done by Dr Akerkar today. She was wonderful. She made me feel so comfortable before and afterwards. She really takes an interest in all her patients and even their family members who she’s seen in the past asking about them. I would and have recommended her to many of my friends and family.

I have been with Dr. Akerkar for several years and trust her knowledge and skills implicitly. She is very thorough, patient and extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of gastroenterology issues and the necessary treatments. She definitely listens to the patient’s concerns and answers all questions. I highly recommend her as an outstanding Gastroenterologist.

Just had my third colonoscopy Akerkar, she is professional, reassuring, and genuinely passionate about the benefits of this procedure being a life saver. She is 100 % right. I watched my sister die of colon cancer, I can tell you, the day of preparation is not pleasant but the torture of undiagnosed cancer is a billion times worse and most likely deadly. Please take it very seriously, take care of yourself. Northeast Endoscopy will take good care of you.

Just a year ago Dr. Akerkar sent me to the hospital and saved my life. She made sure I was in the best possible place, followed my hospital care, then my rehab care. She was always available to my family and to me. Never did I feel as though she was too busy to listen to me/us. She researched all kinds of information to help me get through ulcerative colitis to get to remission. Dr. Akerker is my GI doctor. She always shows concern for my health and makes me feel at ease during my visits. The summer 2020, I had an acute case of Pancreatitus among other issues. She was quick to refer me to a specialist team in Boston and had me seen immediately. I am very grateful for the prompt attention that I recieved and follow-up care that she continues to give me.

Recently had a serious reaction to a medication dr Akerkar prescribed, took a month for her to reach out after many attempts calling her office and speaking with the staff. After 4/5 attempts she reached out. She has no sense of urgency or care in the call. Not happy.

I have been a patient of Dr. Akerkar's for the past 6 years. She is simply an amazing doctor! She is patient and compassionate. I feel like I am talking to a friend during my visits. Most importantly, she listens to you and gets to the root of the problem, and then she fixes it! I have recommended her to all of my friends and family.
