I refinanced with Gateway in 2016, primarily to get my loan out from under Wells Fargo, who had totally screwed up our escrow on a mortgage opened in 2012. During the refinance process, I was given assurances multiple times that the mortgage would never be sold to another lender, to include a signed document from the loan officer guaranteeing as much. Don't use Gateway,this is a bad company.They failed to record my mortgage.They charged me a lien release at payoff.Failed to return it because the mortgage wasn't recorded.
Been with Gateway since 2013, I regret the day i went with them i have been in Crisis like loosing my jobs and they had me to fill out Hardship Affvadit nothing several times and they have charge me interest that i have no clue about!! I advise not to go with Gateway Mortage

We have had our mortgage with them for a year. They have teeerrriibbllleee customer service. Our mortgage was sold to Gateway by American National Bank and they have made the process a nightmare. Our insurance company did not have contact information for them and when they didn't receive renewal information from our insurance company they didn't make a phone call to check where to send our escrow that was set aside for insurance. Terrible mortgage company, they will lie to you too get you to finance with them and then not acknowledge you after they get your money. We had a problem with our contractor, I contacted the guy who works for and financed us through Gateway before the contractor was given a significant amount of money, he lied to us and so now we are out a lot of money. We were told that contractors never run off with customers money through them but they do, Gateway doesn't care as long as they get their payment each month! Can not wait to ... read more

If I could leave no stars, I would. This company is horrible. We purchased our home in 9/2018 and shortly was traded off to Gateway. They have never reported payments being made. Here it is June 2019 and mind you we still live in the house but no payments are being reported. I would like to know where the $10,000 in payments have went? As well as my credit score dropping way down. Worst company I have ever dealt with. They should be shut down!

Gatewway is a horrible company to deal with. Refinanced our home thru them in July. After putting us thru hell from disorganization. Our loan officer's assistant (we never met the acf2fal loan officer), confirmed she had the insurance confirmation before closing. Then our insurance company sent a copy of the policy to Gateway 2 weeks later. Then almost 3 months later I get a threatening letter that they are going to place insurance on our home themself because we do 't have insurance. I call and send a copy of our policy. They ordered an appraisal for an FHA loan that was ridiculously low. Then when the seller's agent requested a dispute or a new appraisal, the loan originator, ******* **** simply blew her off. He was either inconsistent or lied about the loan saying it was a conventional when the pre-approval indicated it was FHA. In early 2017 Gateway Mortgage modified existing electronic payment systems to their payment portal without notice to their clients, including myself. Shortly thereafter recurring payments made to Gateway were subsequently returned and not processed. Once discovered, I had made all diligent efforts to remedy the situation but found that the account was locked by the lender.
