Since August 17, 2020, Garthchester Realty/Stillman Management, running my co-op at 666 Pelham Rd, New Rochelle, NY, has mishandled a disaster in my unit. Leaking waste-line pipes and a broken water main—their duty under Proprietary Lease Paragraphs 2 and 18—flooded my apartment with raw sewage, ruining floors, walls, and cabinets with water damage and mold. do not work with this company. not only are they incompetent, but they’re disrespectful and flippant about serious issues on top of that. they care about no one, are incapable of accountability, and often fail to even respond to problems at all.
Wanted to buy a coop in a building they manage so emailed for basic information about the unit (parking rules, etc). Was told we get 10 free questions and had to pay $100 for more but they would not respond to our 10 questions, and a week later still no response after paying them $100 online for nothing. I can't imagine buying a new home only to be ignored by these people when their help or approval is required.
I Sent multiple emails to garchester/Margie Cruz alongside my super who also tried several times regarding permission to start work for a contractor. It’s been over a month and to this day I have still not received a reply.
Have I read the reviews about them, I'd never buy a place from the building managed by them. Getting a contractor in for a simple painting job is impossible. After 2 weeks of not responding any email, we had to go in person and even then they wouldn't respond. No clear direction of what is required for type of jobs and after two weeks of silence they will tell you they won't approve the 5 million dollar insurance policy. Avoid the buildings managed by them!!!
