My daughter got food poisoning a couple weeks ago at your restaurant, so we won’t be eating there again. We use to love this place but in recent months, the food hasn’t been the same, at all!! The night I took her to the hospital, the nurse told us someone else came in the Monday before claiming he had also eaten there and he had food poisoning as well, from the chicken! The management.. had a birthday coupon worth $20, didn’t realize the meal was $22.. manager would not just let me pay the extra even tho it was an accident.. just super disappointed and then rudely made a comment “well how much did you think it was for?” So unprofessional and won’t be returning here. Nor did I order a meal. Just left.

I dont normally do reviews but I was more than disappointed. I have been at the alehouse before, and it used to be amazing. the last two times the food was not what it used to be . today, i went in for brunch service . i was looking forward to a nice relaxing meal. The restaurant wasnt full or that busy so we sat. we waited over an hour , the steak was cold overcooked and leathery. the hashbrowns were half raw and half undercooked. it was a disappointment.
RecommendedI live in the area, and don’t care for most of the other local restaurants including the new chain restaurants in Gardner and Athol. The Gardner Ale House is a great local treasure, comparable to the excellent dining in or near Boston. The food is A+, the staff are always friendly and knowledgeable, and the prices are very reasonable. My wife is a chef at the gourmet level, and is very particular about what restaurants she will eat out at, and this is the only American Pub food restaurant she will eat at in the entire North ... read more
