They bought our building and sent requests to all tenants to give send them their employer’s HR supervisor contact information. Then they doubled the price of laundry.
We pay thousands of dollars a month to live in a building with zero amenities. The implication of a "locally owned family business" would be that they possess some sort of empathy or investment in their community. I haven't seen that to be the case. When the landlord comes on the property he doesn't deign to acknowledge his tenants unless he has a complaint for them. Now it's been almost 5 years and we're dealing with a 5 day outage of the elevator in a 6 story building with no end in sight. Today we didn't even receive an update. I don't know how much longer my senior dog (15) nor myself can handle the hike to only the 5th floor, but as far as I know, nothing is happening. Consider this building a 6 story walk up! My husband & I lived here for a year and had a great experience. We only moved because we bought a house; otherwise, we definitely would have stayed. The property is dog friendly, very well-maintained, and just overall a no-drama place to live. I think every unit has a balcony in addition to the communal roof deck; we'd never had outdoor space before and loved spending time out there reading or having coffee. I’ve loved at a Gallagher Properties managed apartment for almost 2 years now, and have thoroughly enjoyed it. If we were buying a home we’d be staying here We’re able to buy a home because they offer apartments at incredibly reasonable prices. We’re in an older, no frills, building. Gallagher Properties maintenance, Brian, is spectacular and you wouldn’t know it was an older building.
