My family member received treatment at Galen Hope for depression and an eating disorder and her experience was life-changing. Her entire team showed an obvious amount of care and patience, helping her to navigate a very difficult time in her life. She completed treatment with an arsenal of tools which have allowed her to heal and recognize her triggers. I’ve had a significant amount of experience in mental health treatment centers. This one by far was the worst. The Director and group facilitator, Alexis is horrible. She is an ignorant and unqualified woman who shouldn’t be giving mental health advice and leading this type of program. My “therapist” Cynthia was just as bad. A woman who lacked depth and knowledge. DO NOT GO HERE. Since Galen decided to delete my review, I’m happy to share it again. I’m currently a full time mental health advocate and have been in recovery for 2.5 years now, doing the best I ever have! When I first chose to recover from my eating disorder, I went to Galen Hope. After 6 days, I decided to leave — complete mistreatment of patients, lying to families, a lot of just sitting around doing nothing. It makes me so sad that a place like this exists. Please please try to do better.
My experience with Galen Hope is from the family perspective. My family member has chronic trauma, medical conditions and a severe eating disorder - GH was a lifesaver at a time they needed it most. I will forever be indebted to the staff and co-founders of this compassionate and warm place in which someone dear to me could find support and steps toward recovery.
