As a clinical counselor interested in working with this population, I recently toured Bryan and was incredibly impressed by both the program and its leadership. The tour was led by Mac Caldwell, who generously shared his knowledge and insight into the work being done there. Mac demonstrated a combination of clinical expertise, empathy, and leadership. Let’s really talk about it. The nursing staff is HORRIBLE. Worked here for all of 4 months and got fired because of a lie. Went to another lodge to help them because the staff on that lodge got fired from shoving a sock down a patients throat, then on top of that you have people coming into work and ON THE CLOCK DRUNK, then on TOP of that, there’s staff in certain buildings having relationships with patients… Lodge F which is a women’s lodge has the NASTIEST, RUDEST, most DEGRADING nurse staff of them all. It's a mad house, cop on staff did nothing to help when a woman I was there with got hit, just because she laughed in the face of another patient. Seriously, they can do better. I'll be honest, if you go there and have no insurance you're looking at 12 grand in fees for a two week stay. Don't sign the paperwork, just go somewhere else for help.
