The Frying Pan was a former lightship, but eventually fell into disrepair and sunk due to a broken engine. It was bought by its current owners and repaired in the 1980s and now serves as a popular bar and grill. However, the ship still retains its sunken look in the lower levels in order to acknowledge the Frying Pan's long history.

Definitely a true find in NYC .. amazing atmosphere- fabulous food - love this place!!!! My girlfriends took me for a day in the city for my bday -- this was our first stop ..it's their Favorite --& now mine too !! will be visiting again soon --loved seeing the boats coming in and out .. helicopters landing along the water - views of Jersey's skylines and the Statue of Liberty in all her glory is in sight !! it's an experience!! 5⭐️ for sure !!!

8 you're a veteran of the Fryingpan ! But really $26 lobster rolls, Come on guys even in Sag Harbor $12 at most...
Nice little place on the water! Food was great! We had the fish and chips, fish tacos, burger and chicken sandwich.
Great fun! Get there early to ensure you get a table. The lobster rolls were delicious and the bartenders were great! Had a fun time and will definitely be back there again!
Excellent place for a beer with a great view and atmosphere.
