Celiac's, BE CAREFUL! – This restaurant used to be owned by a Celiac and her husband and they took every precaution to make sure their food was truly gluten-free. As a celiac, this was my haven. I work in the area and would order lunch from friedman's at least 2 times a week, usually more. Since they sold the restaurant, I have watched it deteriorate into a regular restaurant, with no true focus or concern for gluten free food. Countless times, they have sent me non-gluten free food. The only reason I knew it wasn't gluten f... read more

Wonderful – Best mac-n-cheese in the City! Coffee is really good too. Super nice staff. Great atmosphere. Warning: mac-n-cheese is not on the brunch menu. Brunch is good, but would be way better with mac-n-cheese as an option...hint, hint. Oh, and the fruit salad is shockingly good (pomegranate seeds, white-flesh grapefruit, Asian pears...you get the idea).

Good Healthy Meal – The food is very healthy and tasty. This is a great place if you have diet restrictions. The menu has a varitey of gluten free items. If you are coming for a sitdown meal, it gets crowded at lunch time and it feels a bit cramped.

Citysearch Editorial Review – Tucked inside bustling Chelsea Market is this stylish sandwich shop, which feels like a hybrid between a corner bistro and a fast-food joint. Rustic wooden furniture, blackboards covered in chalk and flower-packed vases provide a nice contrast to the busy counter, where employees dish out to-go orders to tourists and businesspeople on lunch break. Comfort food is the focus here: turkey meatloaf, hot pastrami sandwiches, cobb salads and the like, all served with the utmost efficiency. Despite its... read more

Best brunch .. – Best Brunch in area. I remember the old place. It had good pastrami and that was all. This past weekend I was told by a neighbor about the remodeled restaurant. What a pleasant surprise. Everything was good and affordable during theses times of unemployment. Hate spending it all at 202. . The eggs smoked salmon on potato pancake was very good. My partner had the pancakes. As sweet and fluffy as he. Cute waiter new to town was honest and helpful. Would have loved a Bloody Mary. Soon to come I was told. Will d... read more

Editorial Review – Soups, salads, sandwiches, eggs and other basics rule the menu at this cozy spot tucked inside Chelsea Market.

Over-cooked – The Friedman's Deli definition of Kosher must mean cook it until it's burnt to a crisp. One of the first things you may notice when you walk in are the dried up hot dogs behind the register. They keep them sitting on foil on a cold grill. I'm guessing they don't want to dirty the grill unnecessarily. No, they do not re-heat the dogs, they just serve them cold, burnt, and wrinkly. Chicken fingers...don't forget to bring your steak knife. They cook their fingers so long, that they become so hard and dry, it feels... read more

Best Food Ever – The pastrami is soooooo delicious and perfectly cooked. The knishes are amazing. The matzah ball soup tastes like grandmas... and the chopped liver is sooo good. That's all i've tasted so far.... and i'm going back for more!!!

AMAAAAZING FOOD! – All I can say about anything I've ever eaten here is that it's like a party in your mouth! Great if you're in the mood for a filling meal (the pastrami is out of this world!), or even if you just feel like a nosh (knishes, pickles, grilled veggies, french fries, sweet potato fries, YUUMMMY!!). Staff is friendly, quick and very attentive. And they're open late too, so it's a great place for lunch OR dinner.
