Good for dates! Very cozy with friendly staff. We got there at 10:30pm and had a great time.

When it just opened, it was a unique atmosphere shaped by the design choices. Today, with an abundance of places in similar style, Freemans lost its charm. I had the bean soup — it was mediocre.
Artichokes Dip is a great and - shareable - appetizer, don’t get in there by yourself, bring your friends in! BEC Bk toast will make you melt like butter.
Restaurant in the end of alley, very cosy outside
Cozy setting at the end of an alley in the LES. Inside is like stepping into a colonial era tavern or hunting lodge. Food is OK, if overpriced for what you get, but you're paying for the ambience.
Hidden NYC gem. Awesome speakeasy type of location on the edge of SoHo. Great option for brunch, too.
