While my family appreciates the tribute to my grandfather, Maurice Johnson, the updated version of the article is pure garbage and filled with lies to make him sound like a slave. Not only that, it is poorly written. If you’re going to put out information set as fact, fact check. As a journalism degree holder, research and fact-checking are priority in journalism business. I am absolutely DISGUSTED by the Monroe Free Press for publishing false information about my grandfather. PATHETIC.
Very informative. Keeps you abreast of what is going on in Monroe. Pertinent information we don't usually receive from the local newspaper, we find here. Thanks to the staff for all they do. Keep up the good work.
