havent played cello in nearly twenty years, the experience here was wonderful, they gave a private room and my choice of many cellos, gave me space and respectful distance while being attentive when needed, I spent 2 hours and never felt rushed, I also spent very little considering their usual clientele, fred and karen gave a very good refresher course on instrument care, will be a forever patron. these are the music shops that are quickly disappearing around the world and was so happy to visit. 10/10

The service in this establishment is horrific. Whilst on leave, I came in to get a newer violin as a gift for my mother and the older man was very intrusive against me and I found myself in awestruck. Almost as in his opinion on me playing was a joke. I heard some ok reviews of this place but I didn’t know it was this bad. Thanks for being stuck up and snobby. Never EVER coming here again... it’s like the GameStop, can’t sell anything for a reasonable price. Opened or unopened.
Terrible service. The older gent gave me a bad attitude, and the younger woman tried to justify the poor service. The owner's response to my previous review again tried to justify the poor service citing that there were customers inside...which by the way there were nearly none. He also stated that the violin was inheritance from my aunt?? Excuse me? The violin belonged to my father, and by no means was it inheritance. I have rarely ever experienced such disgusting behavior from a business.

Thank you!
We bought a hardingfele sight unseen, and it was more wonderful than we ever anticipated. My partner has done business with Fred over the years, so he completely trusted him to tell us (over the phone, since we live a thousand miles away) the condition of the piece, whether or not it could be playable with repairs, and so forth. His representation was exactly right, and now we have a beautiful, resonant, rare instrument. I would shop from Fred again and again.
