I just moved here from Montgomery County and I fell yesterday on a sidewalk injuring the side of my face. I was bleeding all over. I was swollen and started to bruise and had a horrible headache. Went to this hospital and they took my BP which was 174/64 and made me go back to the waiting room to wait for scans. Two hours later the nurse calls me back and says they could not find me. Terrible hospital. Would give zero stars if I could. Go elsewhere or advocate strongly for your loved one if you have to come here. I've been taking care of my mother for 13 years and I've been to Johns Hopkins, Baltimore Washington, Virginia Health Center, etc. and never one complaint. I have had numerous complaints and grievences filed on behalf of incompetent providers, who carelessly made mistakes in regards to my mothers care. I made the same mistake twice where I did not drink enough water and got dehydrated. Three years ago I went to the emergency room in Fairfax, a doctor examined me the entire time I was there and after an hour told me I was dehydrated and sent me home. Yesterday the same thing happened to me in Frederick. They immediately decided that I should be admitted. They ran test after test. What is the point of checking my blood every couple of hours? This hospital is trash. They deserve no stars! I was transported here by ambulance from a MVA. From the start, RN Laura had an attitude. She was complaining of the computers not working and the influx of patients that had just came in. She was saying things like, "oh great! Now what am I supposed to do. Where are we putting all these people." She was rolling her eyes and snapping at the staff around her. She took my vitals and parked me in a hallway in a neckbrace and wheelchair with a two year old. If I could’ve chose 0 stars, I would’ve. Over and over again. Literally a HORRIBLE experience every single time I’ve gone. They treated my boyfriend and I when we were sent in by our sons pediatrician. I understand all the COVID protocols and policies, but if you’re going to have nurses that dont follow them, then you might as well not even have them. So disappointed by the staff.

Frederick Memorial Hospital does NOT participate with the VA All the veterans in the area has to go to Virginia hospital to receive any community based care. I find it hard to believe that a "NON profit" facility would do this to the veterans of this community. I was told by VA that it is a hardship for the veterans, even the "for profit" physicians that are willing to except veterans as patients can't render services because of the hospital not excepting the insurance. Would not go back to this ER. Went there for what I thought was an abscess/infected gland that had worsened quickly over the weekend. Only reason I went, was because I couldn't get into GYN until Friday and with the winter storm over the weekend, my options were limited. I don't know why I would think they would have one competent person there who had the time to drain it. After a 3 hour wait in a half empty waiting room, I got pulled back to an ER room.
