Go to Frates! I love Frates. The ice cream/food is great and you always get service with a smile. I go there at least once per week when they are open.
good place to eat. Great food. Clean, Friendly environment. I would suggest this place to anyone. Fried clams, clam cakes, one of the lobster rolls, fried dough and of course ice cream. Little picnic area. Oh and the music takes you back to the drive in days.
Clean, friendly, Quality Food The cleanest place I have ever eaten. The girls are always so friendly. Management will take the time to come see how your meal is and ask you about your day. The food is very high quality. Whenever I am in the area I take the detour for their 300+ flavors of ice cream. Only problem is that they are not open all year! Opening Day is today 3/23/11! I will definitely be there!
I love this place. I've been going here since I was a little girl. I absolutely love Frates. They have extremely delicious icecream and its a great place to just stop at if your on a bike ride or something. Their prices are kind of high though. But it is definitely worth it. I love their crazy vanilla ice cream!!
Work Atmosphere My niece used to work here.. just hearing her stories of how the management talks to these children I am disgusted. They are children working through high school at their first jobs and have to deal with 30 something men talking in-appropriately to them everyday. Of course the children think it's funny.. but what about the parents that hear these stories afterwards. Appalling, I will never be back there.

This was my very first time in Massachusetts and first ever lobster roll. The lobster meat was tender and had been prepared to perfection. Very nice young team members serving but they need to speak more slowly when taking orders from older customers. Great food and fun place.
