Dr. Payne truly lives up to his name, if I could give 0 stars I would. Does not take into account your own entire medical chart or any medications you’re on that could be causing an underlying issue. “Diagnosed” me with a very rare condition and weight shamed me. My primary care doctor called me and told me to stop taking hormonal birth control which solved my headache issues. This was years ago but the trauma of that appointment stuck with me. I had an appointment with Dr. Darren Payne today, and unfortunately, I found his professionalism lacking. Despite my history of iritis, he quickly dismissed it and concluded that my symptoms were related to migraines, completely disregarding the opinions of other ophthalmologists who had previously treated me. What bothered me most was his tendency to undermine colleagues in the same profession to elevate himself. I went to Dr. Payne for a problem with my right eye. After 15 min. I was told by him I had a migraine in my eye. No in-depth test were done. I have since gone to another Dr. and been diagnosed with Strabismus and need corrective surgery. I do not recommend Dr. Payne.
Dr. Payne is very personable and a pro at what he does. I had cataract surgery and later developed large floaters in both eyes. He was able to remove them with no discomfort and quickly. I highly recommend him.
