West Coast X-New York Houston Hangout – Best thing is it stays open late; so it's good late-night Pizza. Esp. if you've been drinking down the street at Warren's. I wouldn't say the Pizza is "best I ever had" or "not as good as on Mulberry St. ..."; it's good for what it is; a little less pretentious than most other food establishments around downtown, and obviously WAY less $$$. Could do with a better 'Bar' selection; then it'd be 'funky'. But then it'd become pretentious and ...
It's NY as you can get in Houston. – The place sets up like a pizza joint in NY, long and narow. You can smell the pizza walking near by. The place was packed and I found out way. The pizza was GREAT!!
Only place that opens late – What more can you ask for? Great pizza, service, location and they stay open late on Fri and Sat...all Houstonians know that Frank's is where it's at after a nite out in Downtown!
Great Pizza (Sometimes) – This is one on my favorite lunch time treats. But watch out for attack of the old pizza! It is ok when they throw it back in the oven, but most of the time it is fresh out of the oven. I treat myself about twice every week!
I <3 HOUSTON – The New York attitude is clearly present in this Houston-friendly pizza joint. You push your way to the bathroom and your personal bubble is invaded by the hundred or so people squeezing themselves to the back of the line down that narrow dining room. But that's how Frank's is supposed to be. And the pizza is top notch. No slice in Houston compares to Frank's.
Good but not Great – I had a large Pizza delivered during my recent trip to Houston. Like so many other pizza places that claim to be "New York style pizzerias" Franks was good but not nearly close enough to the real thing. The pizza lacked enough sauce and the edges of the crust where too thin and tasted too much like flour. Franks was good I was just hoping for better.
My fav place in downtown – Frank's is a great, laid-back place to go to in downtown. Bad a$$ pizza and great service. It stays open late, slices are huge, and the price is very reasonable.
Best Pizza in town! – This place is the best! Cool atmosphere and great serive. The pizza is delicious, the absolute best in Houston!
