It's not the OG in New Haven but it's damn good!!
The restaurant is clean and bright and bears the name of the most wonderful pizza restaurant in the country the original Frank Pepe in New Haven, Connecticut that I’ve been going to for over 50 years. Unfortunately, the pizza is not good. The crust has no chew. It’s like eating a dry cracker. Ingredients were disappointing, dough is hard to make, buying fresh ingredients like sausage and clams. The pizza is one of favorites at frank pepe, the quality and the freshness of the ingredients you can feel it in every bite, when you dine in it’s such a better experience because you get to eat the pizza right away when it’s hot. I live like 40 minutes away from the location so when I do take out by the time I get home the pizza it’s already cold so I have to heat it up but still tastes amazing . The pizza it’s the best so it’s worth the driving . Staff in very friendly and helpful .
That was one damn great pie!!! Had the pepperoni and hot cherry peppers.
