RecommendedLast fall I ordered a grimes from the guys over at Franco. The only unfortunate part in the process was that my time-line for receiving the bike was getting pushed out. But Franco made it right and gave me some upgrades at no charge. They listened to exactly what I wanted and delivered on it! This is from my husband...got my Latigo RS1-D a few weeks ago. Best purchase I've ever made! As one review already said, you just want to keep riding. The bike performs exceptionally well in all aspects, but you never feel beat up after a long ride. It remains extremely engaging, but never harsh. I recently did an event with a lot of hills and it climbs effortlessly and also descends with insane stability. Unfortunately I can't recommend buying a bike from Franco. Although they make a beautiful bike, when it comes to customer service they do a poor job and their follow up is horrible. Over a year ago I needed help with replacing my seat post. Understand that this is a custom frame so I really couldn't go anywhere but back to Franco, they continually promised me a replacement and "we will get right on it". Now my emails are not even returned. I don't blame Julian for this but the manager of Franco's. Terribly disappointing!!
My experience building my dream bike (Balcom S w/eTap) was fantastic with Hector & Franco. Every interaction from my initial demo request email to follow up questions after taking delivery was friendly and professional. After my first demo, 35 mile ride with a few nice climbs, I asked hours of questions and component/part swaps on my potential build.
