When I mentioned the popping noise in the driver side door to the mechanic who last changed my oil and filter, he said there was a crack in the metal and advised that I take it to the body shop. I found Foster's on Angie's list. Stan advised that the noise was not a safety issue, and in light of the cars age and the fact that it would cost $800 to remove the panel and make the repair, he would put up with the "pop," which he advised may get more pronounced over time.
