I had been attending cardiac rehab for about a month when staff began repeatedly fixating on my footwear. I was told more than once that wearing sandals was fine and that I could use the selectorized weight machine with resistance cables instead of dumbbells. I complied exactly as instructed. Despite that, the issue was brought up again and again, including during a phone call placed on my behalf to reconfirm what I had already been told.
